Case Study – Harbour Court
A 7 storey gateway development on a main arterial route into Bristol delivering 133 student beds for Prime Student Living and Buile. Set in the heart of Bristol’s waterside with easy access to both Universities.
Campus Project Solutions were engaged as project managers and quantity surveyors for the project.
The scheme had significant archaeology being the site of the old monk's carp pool and the omnipresent complication of a tight site. It also had multiple party wall awards, rights to light and oversailing challenges that were overcome. The entire footprint of the site was used as accommodation and a 3m basement was excavated, tanked and braced. This created significant logistical issues.
Marrying cold rolled lightweight steel structure to a hot rolled frame presented its own difficulties and it was soon apparent the scheme was going to be completed close to the occupation date. Campus Project Solutions provided all pre-contract cost advice and administered the two-stage tender through to appointing the contractor. We supervised the building contract keeping the project team motivated and focussed all the way to a successful delivery and occupation.
